“Abstract Deities”, featuring works by Adela Matalova, Duru Dinç, Mathilde Melek An, Mısra Balkan, and Zeynep Erkman,
“Abstract Deities” is a storytelling universe that centered around female protagonists. This universe showcases a layered composition that interwines physical, cognitive and routine visuals and approaches daily practices as ritualized motifs.
The exhibition, bringing together various disciplines from textiles to sculpture, from video to oil painting emphasizes that the "female gaze" is not a homogeneous concept and highlights the boundless diversity among artists. Through different materials and narratives, women artists present a rich spectrum of expression, creating a conceptual space that interrogates the everyday and explores the threshold of the routines that are ritualized.
